Wedding venues - Cheshire, Shropshire, Manchester & North Wales
Wedding venues come in many shapes and sizes these days. There was a time when your a typical wedding venue would be a hotel, or a hall but nowadays there are all sorts of venues with civil ceremony licenses which means that you really can get the sort of venue that suits your personalities.
Hotels
The most popular place to hold a wedding reception is still a Hotel but whereas previously it would be the big hotels that held a civil licence, now that is not the case. You will be just as likely to find a small hotel able to cater for your big day which is ideal for those who wish to have a more intimate hotel wedding reception or wedding ceremony.
Some examples of stunning hotel wedding venues are Rowton Hall Hotel, Rowton, Near Chester, Rookery Hall Hotel near Crewe in Cheshire, Speke Hall in Liverpool, Bodidris Hall Hotel, Denbighshire.
Restaurants as wedding venues
A little more unusual and perhaps a more contemporary choice is to have your wedding reception in a restaurant. Again, some restaurants have civil licences and so are able to offer the full wedding package. The Boat Inn in Erbistock, near to Wrexham is a beautiful wedding venue with the river Dee close by, the restaurant is off the beaten track and was originally built in the 17th Century but has been remodelled in the 19th and 20th Centuries. Then there is the very contemporary Embelishment Restaurant in Manchester which is set in a Grade II listed building. The restaurant boasts a number of awards for its food.
Museums & Art Galleries
Interestingly you can now get married in a museum or an art gallery. If you are looking for somewhere that really does encapsulate your passions and hobbies, then this could be an excellent option for you. For example if you are an art lover then the Manchester Art Gallery would certainly add a personal touch! The gallery mixes contemporary architecture with classic victorian architecture to create a truly magnificent wedding venue. If you are a fan of the motor industry, then how about having your big day at the Midland Motor Museum in Bridgenorth, Shropshire.
Town Halls
Town Halls are often very large imposing buildings non so more than Liverpool's Town Hall. One of the oldest historical buildings in Liverpool, the town hall dates back to to the 16th century, though it has been rebuilt and restored over the years, most latterly in 1995. Another imposing Town Hall is Stockport Town Hall. In fact, Stockport Town Hall is referred to as "The Wedding Cake" due to it's tier-like architecture. Stockport Town Hall can offer both a civil wedding venue or the complete wedding reception package.
Port Meirion - Gwynedd
We couldn't even think of a category for this wedding venue! Port Meirion is in fact an Italian village recreated in the North Wales region of Snowdonia. Built in 1935 the village really is an unusual and unique place to get married. With Traeth Bach Estuary and the Mountains of Meirionnydd as a backdrop this venue will provide you with the ultimate photographs.
